Taghazout, Morocco

Taghazout, is a traditional Moroccan fishing village set against the Atlantic ocean that has, in recent years, become something of a hotspot surf destination. Despite its new-found popularity it maintains its low-key village charm, attracting visitors looking for calm and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of big cities like Agadir and Marrakech.

Here one can still enjoy the romance of the old fashioned slow-pace style of life, watching the fishermen pull there boats in after a days catch, while simultaneously enjoying modern luxuries like boutique hotels and restaurants.

There are many beaches in the area, some of which can still be relatively secluded and provide a perfect opportunity for watching surfers backdropped against stunning sunsets.

Weatherwise, Taghazout gives an ideal year-round climate, in the summer months providing a welcome relief of the heat of inland Morocco with temperatures normally around a pleasant 26 degrees celcius.

Drawn to the deeper philosophical dimensions of Yoga, Luke loves to share the inquiry that springs from the chants, myths and conceptual underpinnings which form Yoga’s wider tradition.

Luke continues deepening his study of the Yoga tradition through studying Vedic chanting under the tutelage of Sri Vedacarya Varadarajan and Sanskrit with Dr. Pratik Rumde.

More importantly he can, most days, be found on the mat exploring embodied existence using the tools of movement, breath and bandha and which provides the foundation for his continued sharing.
